Published at long last is Oliver Trager's book Dig Infinity - the life and
art of Lord Buckley. Consisting of interviews with friends, family and
associates of the Hip Messiah interspersed with chronological narrative and
transcripts of some of the raps.

Oliver mentions Pynchon a couple of times. First as one one of his
influences in his exploration of the underground culture "..Sun Ra and
Moondog, Partch and Pynchon..." and later

"Buckley forged the fractured fragments of the disunited bopster nation
into powerful paeans to the hip life. He viewed this squalid sordid, shadow
world as Melville saw the Whale, Joyce saw Odysseus, Pynchon saw Orpheus,
or Wagner saw a Valkyrie, the stuff of epic song"

If you are already a Buckleyhead its an excellent celebration - if you
don't know the man it's time you did. He was a key FariƱa influence and I
can't imagine TP escaped the sound of his glorious voice and egalitarian joys.
