Get a grip. Out of profound respect for my fellow P-listers, I'm being
careful not to point a finger at anybody in particular here. I wrote, "It
has been surprising to me to discover people with right-wing and even
neo-fascist
political views who claim an affinity for Pynchon's work, that's for sure,
but live and learn I guess" in my post at
http://waste.org/mail/?list=pynchon-l&month=0206&msg=67453&sort=date. At
the same time, there's been no end to pro-Bush, pro-war in Afghanistan,
pro-global capital posts in this forum, many of which contain views that
could easily be located within neoconservative, right-wing and even
neo-fascist political perspectives. If you can't see that, that's your
problem. I stand by my original point, the people making the most noise
about not accepting the Playboy Japan interview as authentic are the same
people who don't agree with what Pynchon told that magazine's reporter.
Please feel free to disagree with anything I say or to ignore it, that's
your choice, I have no way to compel you to do anything against your will.
