But this is exactly what Jbor did. An unwillingness to reflexively 
condemn should NOT be taken as a sign of compliance. I'd bet big 
shecklels that Jbor's position is not only genuine, but also that he 
takes it, not in simple opposition to you, but because he is 
"solution" oriented, and that, regardless of Scrubby's numerous 
flaws, that his ideas should be criticized on their merits....As such, 
he does  more to foster debate over those issues than those who 
dismiss all "solutions" offered by this adminstration because they 
cannot possibly be presented in "good faith".........

No, I think Jbor's purpose, and I really should refrain from speaking 
for him - is to try to examine the underlying matter. Though I too 
share a good deal of your skepticism, it is indeed a useful 
exercise. I don't believe that I qualify as a reactionary just because 
I spend time reading "their" media - to the extent that "they" too 
seek "solutions", I want to be informed, even if I am not persuaded -
furthermore I am a firm believer in subjecting your faith to stern 
challenges.....

True, but as you and I have debated in the past, I don't see 
Pynchon establishing "absolute evil", but rather another "agent" in 
the dynamic of "history".......(love them q marks - the inexact 
thinkers best friend).....
