MDMD Dixon's nonviolence

I don't know how you got on the subject, or what's
been said about it in the past, and I don't care. I'm
pretty much just tuning in on this one, always a
possibility around here, and I posted the one bit I
had on the subject. For better or worse, it just so
happens to support both sides of the argument, in that
the historical Dixon seems indeed to have been pushed
over his Quaker edge, while Pynchon, who seems indeed
to have consulted several of Robinson's works on the
survey, not to mention the surveyors--David Foreman,
where are you?--does indeed depart in a significant
way from a heretofore standard account. Beyond that,
y'all are on your own. Me, I'm quite happy to have
skipped ahead to that cat you all ignored, and to have
answered for myself a question that's been bugging me
since Chs. 15-16 ...

How so? You all (and by "all," I mean of course the
very vocal "some" here ....) don't even post DESPITE
me. Now THAT'S unusual, noteworthy ...

But you know, nobody gives me more hassle here than
