He does "berate and threaten the driver" before leaving, but I can't see
this taking more than a couple seconds. Dixon and Mason then walk away,
though only until they're out of sight of the crowd at which point they take
to their heels (they run), taking a circuitous route back to their horses so
as to avoid the crowd and, presumably, the heat. Clearly, to me at least,
they are experiencing some anxiety re. their safety.
