Now did we want to get back to Mason & Dixon or not? 
The former, all parties willing, you can take up with
Doug and maybe Otto offlist, me, I'd just as soon
complete a little something I've been hoping to work
up on the opening of GR and send it off into the real
world for consideration.  The latter you can discuss
with Hollander, I'm sure you know the address and I'm
sure he'll be happy to have someone who'll bicker with
him in earnest, as I have neither the time nor the
energy.  The middle proposition you can take up with
that guy who wrote that nifty litle paper in Pynchon
Notes as I've, again, only so much time to point out
not only all those Baudelaire allusions I found on my
lonesome, but to keep inserting words like "parody
thereof" after all those entries in yr increasingly
Incompleat Indexing of just about anyone and
ev'ryone's actual statements here.  But, hy, it's your
time, waste it however you want.  Just don't waste
mine, ours.  But I've a dlete button, i suppose, plu a
whole buncha other keys i really oughtta be applying
to Ch. 40 of M&D or soemsuch, so ... "Skipping 40
chapters," hell, now we're skipping entire novels
(again) ...
