Dear Ivan, I read your letters several times and found your quoting
Bulgakov's Master and Marguerite really interesting, although I think that
when the devil manages things, it's normal after all that cats speak (and
there's no devil in Mason & Dixon), and once again you're talking about
some good works.
I didn't read GR and can't say anything about that. But conspiracy is a
thematic that many contemporary authors use in their works. Of course this
kind of Mafia in Mulholland Drive may not be a real conspiracy, but a
normal fact: mafiosi are financial partners. But this strange cowboy, the
laughing old people, and the man behind the wall may be figures that we
might find at Pynchon's (see for example Death and Mercy in Vienna).
It's nice to hear about something else than Dixon's fist.
