Well, apparently, that concentration camp evacuation
reading was first floated by Otto here.  Still an
interesting reading, and one which dovetails with Mike
Weaver's note a while back about perhaps the
purpose--or, at any rate, the effect--of such
indeterminacies in those Pynchonian texts and how they
are variously actualized by those who read them. 
Saving any further speculation for a project i'd like
to get to after I get to another coupla projects,
after i get to ...
