Sorry, I mean the discussion on pages 408and 409 at the end of chapter 40,
re the story of Mason, his whip, and the horse.  Cherrycoke and his
listeners fuss about what constitutes history v. irresponsible
embellishment re the story of Dixon and the slave driver's whip on pages
695 adn 696, before Cherrycoke relates that tale.
