But the scene at the Hermann Goering teeters on the brink of resembling a parody of B-film classics (Ed Wood, maybe?), in which the myth of Perseus rescuing Andromeda from the kraken fuses with an illiterate and hearsay knowledge of Jules Verne´s 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea squid.
Excellent!
There is a lot of fusing (all puns unintentacle). Movies, right, what
ones I forget, but one has to do with two leading ladies or girls for
every boy (Fay Wray). Anyway, the girl K is playing several roles, but
mostly she just plays for the camera and how she looks in it to
herself--history as solipsism, sorta like the fetish girl in V.. Also,
Grigori is an Angel (not unlike our duck in M&D) and the eye or watcher
of the Gnostic cosmos conditioned by Pavlovian Knights in search of the
Grail--Word, Logos, Cup and Blood of Christ. So Pointy, a Pavlovian
Knight, hunts Dogs, had one named Gloucester (he's invested with
Shakespeare's Richard III and the Winter of discontent brought on by an
end to the War or the Lab--funding) and he hunts children at the bus
station, but all he wants is a Fox. So he ends up with a fallen angel.
And fused to Perseus is Hercules, hydra and crab and the murder of
children. Could be a Vietnam connection there in Slothrop's shirt given
him by his brother but I can't recall. I'll look it up if you're
interested. And the torture never stops, but I was thinking about M&D
and if we are going to finish it?
