The Nabokov Lectures are neither novels nor poems.
Nobokov and Pynchon are novelists but in these
writings they both say they are talking to prospective
reader/writers. The difference is that Pynchon talks
about his own apprentice work. Nobokov talks about the
works of other novelists. Both identify an audience.
Both state their didactic objective. In doing so
neither identifies a political audience or objective.
