Once again, I gotta axe y'all, if not, well, whatever,
then, well, what?  "Creating magic from the stuff of
contemporary collective consciousness, in all of its
complexities and contradictions" might serve as an
enticing dust jacket blurb in some quarters, but ...

Me, I'd generally get suspicious ca. "magic," though,
in the fifty/fifty chance I'd made it past "collective
consciousness," "complexities and contradictions" are
perhaps the kind of generalizations that'd reel my
peculiar bookreadin'/buyin' interest back in, but ... 

Well, as always, an awful lot of negatives around here
without any positives.  Nothing offered in place of
any allegedly "wrong" answers.  Nothing, perhaps,
risked.  It's easier to critique a comment, an
argument, whatever, than to make/mount/whatever one's
own, I know, I know well, but ... 

But I'm genuinely curious, esp. in your case, in the
case of others here, what do you think IS going on in
these works, texts, what have you?  The political, the
autobiographical, the critical, the philosophical,
even, are indeed all in play here, though the
questions might be how, and what else?  Let me know
...
