What slip?  Upper-class creeps like Bush do whatever
they can to the people who aren't so fortunate, so
long as it helps Bush and his ilk -- the rich
chickenhawks who will profit as lower class folk
suffer and die in a war on Iraq, for example, or in
the war on Afghanistan; lying and disseminating bs --
manipulating racial fears, for example -- to distract
from other issues to gain political advantage. As
Pynchon notes in the SL Intro, those with money and
power use their privilege to keep the rest of us
relatively poor and powerless.  

So what is your point, exactly? If it has anything to
do with the SL Intro, I mean -- otherwise, I'm happy
to keep a discussion about you or me offlist if you
wish.
