What does this mean?  "As much as anyone" establishes a baseline for 
everyone.  It's like saying Pynchon probably has two eyes.

I think this is probably safe to say, yes.

Am I following this?  You think it's reminiscence, although we can't know and 
it's all irrelevant anyway?
