SLSL Racial Differences

That's interesting. I find the Introduction confusing
and jumbled. I find most of Pynchon's essays are
likewise confusing and jumbled. The Intro to BDSL is
the exception. That being said, I don't think this
Introduction makes much sense unless you are at least
as familiar with the stories as the Introduction.
Well, I guess that's why we're doing this SLSL. And I
realize that we need to schedule the thing and
organize it in some way, but I'm finding it kinda hard
not to bring the stories into this current discussion.
I guess I'm as much to blame as anyone else because I
sort of got fixated on a few badly written sentences.
I focused on these to support my opinion that the
Intro is poorly written and because I felt that some
of these sentences were sure to be the fulcrum upon
which arguments would be leveraged later on and so we
had best get them out of the basement and into the
yard for a good looking over. Well, it turns out that
lots of readers were attracted to these sentences as
well and for various reasons, though we all seem to
agree that they are a ambiguous. In any event, I
wonder if we scheduled this thing right. I mean, with
superman x-ray vision looking back we could have given
the Introduction a week and then Dave or someone else
could have team-hosted the stories as they are taken
up in the Introduction. It's just kinda difficult not
to post something from the stories since most of the
Introduction deals with them and yet the schedule
prevents this. 

All water into the Holland Tunnel (happy birthday
Holland tunnel) as they say, but I think the schedule
is one of the reason we are stuck on a few sentences
here and I don't think that we should be criticized
for talking about these issues now.
