Pynchon mention

I don't think Pynchon ever suggests that paranoia is
our contemporary religion. Religion is inherently
paranoid. Pynchon's stories don't suggest that
paranoia itself is a religion, but that, for example,
paranoid connections between the living and the dead,
are religious connections even if all that is  held 
sacred is sliding into the profane.
