SLSL continue with "The Small Rain" if anybody's interested

I wonder if it's worth trying to continue discussing
SL, given the experience so far.  One voice yapping
over and over and over and over and over and over
again that it's not worth discussing, two more voices
taking pot shots at the efforts of the moderator (and
others) to spark and sustain a discussion, effectively
shutting down the conversation. 

Dave, thanks very much for taking the time and making
the effort to illuminate the SLSL Introduction as you
have.  No good deed goes unpunished on Pynchon-L,
unfortunately.

If anybody's interested, go ahead and start the "The
Small Rain" discussion.  I'll post a few bits and
pieces I've gathered, but I don't see much value in
continuing the research, in the face of the sort of
hostility that Dave's efforts have met.
