I see no signs of the 'miseries of scholars:'

Grief, labour,care, pale sickness, miseries,
Fear, filthy poverty, hunger that cries,
Terrible monsters to be seen with eyes.

No evidence of dotage, madness, loss of liberty, overmuch study, envy,
malice, emulation, covetousness, vehement desires, ambition, desire of
praise, pride, vainglory, suspicion, jealousy, discontent, vain
imaginations, restless thoughts, impatience, etc etc.

And if that is all not proof enough:

"If an ambitious man become melancholy, he forthwith thinks he is a king . .
."

I rest my case.
