I posted the sign-up sheet to get the ball rolling,
after several people in recent months suggested a
group reading of Slow Learner next.

This is the way past Pynchon-L group readings have
started.  After some discussion, somebody posts a
sign-up sheet and off we go.

Hosting a session means suggesting topics of
discussion for a chapter or section of the Pynchon
work -- questions readers might want to consider,
sometimes supplemented with research material relevant
to the text in question, it varies widely and it's of
course entirely up to each session host to move the
discussion along as she chooses.  

We can adjust the schedule of a Slow Learner reading
(slower, faster, whatever works), handle the
Introduction separately or integrate that with the
rest of the discussion, etc. 

I don't particularly want to go through Vineland on
Pynchon-L again so soon. It will become obvious,
sooner or later, if enough people want to read Slow
Learner.
