"Pornography" can be taken in a broader sense in GR,
referring to the creation of a sort of fake version of
something, an approxmation (sentimentalized, stylized,
painted- and juiced-up) that titillates but does not
satisfy. Any movie, in this sense, provides a
"pornography" of reality -- it's a rough
approximation, a substitute that creates and
stimulates desire, but which pales next to the "real
thing", life itself, up close and personal. Or a
pornography of a sunset, so picture-perfect but
hollow, shallow, fake. What we commonly refer to as
pornography (media with sexually explicit content
designed to sexually stimulate the observer) fits this
broader definition, too -- it presents an
approximation of real sex between two (or more)
people, but is more often enjoyed in solitary mode.
GR thus calls attention to the representation of the
world ("world-as-text" if you will) that mediates
experience and alienates a subject, makes of the world
an object, a fetish, etc.
