There's no secret, jbor, nothing to "own up" to -- I
guess you missed it the first time. I cc'd Prof
Krafft in my initial reply to cathyramirez69's
slander, obvious in the Cc: line of the message I
posted to Pynchon-L. You could look it up. Here, I've
looked it up for you:

False. Check with Professor John Krafft, an editor of
Pynchon Notes.

--

Since Prof. Krafft is the person I would have
"lobbied" -- if this ridiculous accusation were true
-- I figured it was best to let him defuse the slander
with the facts of the matter, which are that I did not
in any way "lobby" to prevent publication of jbor's
article, and that PN's decision to publish an article
was the result of the publication's own independent
editorial policy. Truth is the defense against
slander, and having Prof. Krafft confirm my denial
should suffice to set this matter to rest -- assuming,
that is, that you trust Prof. Krafft to tell the
truth.

I admit I was surprised to see you, jbor, answer
Prof. Krafft's statement by dragging up that horrible
old episode of your (together with a couple of other
current P-list participants) hounding fellow Pynchon-L
scholar, Charles Hollander -- not you and your pals at
their best, I'm afraid. Amazing you'd bring it up
again! Go figure.

jbor, you might want to givecathyramirez69 a little
talking to offlist for dragging your name into this,
if that concerns you, since she is the one who did it
-- but you have only yourself to blame for bringing up
that reference to your hounding of Charles Hollander.
I told you back then that I didn't think you were
doing yourself any favors, at a time when you were
trying to establish yourself as a respectable Pynchon
scholar, and I don't think you've done yourself any
favors now by dragging it up again. It still puzzles
me why you'd want to use Pynchon-L to attack,
unprovoked, a fellow Pynchon scholar and PN
contributor, but I'm sure you had your reasons. I'm
not the only one who cautioned you, of course -- quite
a few people wondered about your attack on Hollander,
and about your allegations that Hollander and I had
hacked into your computer (or whatever it was you were
raving about -- was it your computer, or the Pynchon-L
archives, you accused us of hacking?) and were
distressed by your attack on Hollander in this forum.
