I never mentioned the Pynchon Notes.  
I asked, 

"Didn't Doug lobby hard to prevent Robert from having
his article on Pynchon published?" 

The context of my question included  a warning to this
list to be careful when discussing their works in
progress here on P-L and an explaination  why I have
never been willing to   post more than deliberately
fragmented and patchy ideas from my own. 

 

With the exception of Hollander's essays I have only
read one article published in PN---on Nija Turtles or
something like that. While it is possible that I have
read an article or more than one article published
eleswhere that has also been published in PN, I do not
subscribe to PN. Obviously, not having read PN, I have
no opinion about what they contain. Moreover, I have
not read anything about PN, its editoral staff, its
integrity, profesionalism, etc. I do not and have
never corresponded with John Krafft or anyone else at
PN. 



That being said, I do recall reading something about
Robert's article. I recall reading that it was going
to be publsihed in PN. I believe it was John Krafft or
someone at PN who informed us of this some time
ago---an upcoming articles advertisement that may have
included a  proposed table of contents. So I can not
say that I did not know that Robert was to be or had
already been  published in PN when I posed my
question. However, when I posed the question to this
list, it was not my intention to slander PN or you or
anyone else. 

As you spin yourself deeper into that black web  of
lies and deciet you demostrate that have no
consideration for anyone else here or in the community
of Pynchon schloarship. 

You have deliberately distorted what transpired here
on Pynchon-L. You attempts to invlove Krafft (sorry
for misspelling Krafft's name previously) in your
self-serving machinations and acusations of slanderous

suggestions is dispicable. 

I will let you have the final word, Doug. 

PS I can't argue with you anymore. I understand that
you are a gentle and serene man in the flesh. So may
it be, but on Pynchon-L, you are an asshole.
