Barbara,

It's too bad that all of these folks -- at least the
ones with personalities tethered in physical bodies --
didn't make it over to my house concert party last
month. Despite the bustle of 45 guests, food, drink,
hosting house tours, the D-squared concert, etc., I
know we all did enjoy some serene moments.

Terrance's poems are sometimes funny, and like some
good poems have little or nothing whatsoever to do 
with whatever might have initially inspired them.
Terrance is a giggle, a dark giggle at times, but I
can't stay any more angry with him, for any longer,
than I can with my 6-year-old nephew, Warren (you met
him at our party, I hope).  jbor -- that's another
story, that's a real piece of work, a resentful,
bitter soul trying to establish himself in a community
of scholars that can't be easy to break into; when I
think about him that way, try to picture him in human
terms, it's a bit easier to deal with the vendetta
he's waged all these years.  But even jbor might yield
to the charms of music in our house overlooking the
Bay, in such congenial company.
