Mackin, jbor, cathramirez69 -- I'll let you all push on alone with this
thread. I've denied your absurd allegations, Pynchon Notes has, too, and
if it makes you feel better to continue to attach slanderous rumors to my
name, I can't stop you. Most of the people who read Pynchon-L regularly
know what gets said here, and who says it, but don't let me pop your
bubble, keep piling up the bs but just because it smells sweet to you
doesn't eliminate the rank smell.

If you three (giving at least one of you the benefit of the doubt) want to
continue to peddle tales about some sort of gossip somehow influencing the
editorial policy of Pynchon Notes, I'll admit I have no clue what you think
you gain by doing that, but obviously I have no ability to stop you from
writing what you want to write on the P-list. If you want to just continue
to talk about me instead of Pynchon, nobody can stop you from doing that
either -- your choice.

It wasn't quite clear from your previous post, jbor, but I'm assuming that
you've backed away from the absurd claim that I've brought some sort of
pressure to bear to influence Prof. Krafft's decision to publish your
article in Pynchon Notes. To make it perfectly clear for you, my role
vis-a-vis PN is to pass along the occasional bibliographic or news item I
think will interest its editors; I do not take part in any peer review of
articles to be published, nor do I have conversations with the editors
about what articles will be published in the journal. jbor, you obviously
don't need any help raising a stink on your own and you can take
responsibility for what you say here within the Pynchon community that pays
attention to Pynchon-L You brought up the old Hollander matter this time,
not me, trying to score some kind of point in your message to Prof. Krafft
that you cc'd to Pynchon-L -- and if you're going to do that sort of thing,
of course I'll correct your mistruths with the facts. You take care of
what you say, and I'll do the same. Or not, of course you have perfect
liberty to choose how you present yourself here. But don't try to blame
me for the impression that you create, take responsibility for your own
foolishness, please.

I continue to think it's shameful the way you attacked Charles Hollander in
this forum and I think it's lame that your bitterness towards me led you to
smear -- perhaps unintentionally, although you chimed in with
"cathramirez69" quickly enough -- Pynchon Notes this time around. You're
a regular bull in a china shop, dude.

-Doug

P.S. "cathyramirez69", I feel certain that if you in fact had something to
post besides "fragmented and patchy ideas" you wouldn't hestiate to share
them here. Until then, we'll make do with the fragments, I suppose.

OK, you guys can take it from here, and I'm sure you will. This is my final
answer.
Enjoy!
