I'm the guilty one. I asked the question. I'm very
sorry that I did. I regret asking the question not
because it has ignited the "current" conflict. And
not because I have slandered anyone. I regret asking
the question because I posed it while I was
squabbling with Doug and I brought Robert into it.
That was a stupid thing for me to do and I'm sorry,
Robert.

I'm really feeling quite guilty about this and I
should. I've been round here a long time and so I know
better.

Having never benifited from Doug's contribution to PN
I don't feel too guilty for providing him with the
oportunity to make a complete ass of himself here
again.

"So full of artful jealousy is guilt, it spills itself
in fearing to be spilt."

But I have benifited enormously from Robert's
contributions to P-L, particularly from his recent
efforts during MDDM. Robert has been the obvious
victim of Doug's onslaughts and yet he has (in these
last several months) demonstrated that keeping cool,
while
responding selectively and judiciously to Doug's
flames, is the best approach. If only I had followed
his example.

My apologies to Robert and John Krafft and all other
slandered parties here and out there in Pynchonland.
