TRP is a deistic alchemist extraordinaire. The first stage of the process =
throwing the base metals of politics, economics, history, religion,
philosophy, science, mysticism, etc etc, into the vessel of his novels. The
reader takes over the second stage, the process of differentiation. Dividing
the resultant mix into its constituent parts. Turn an eye towards a
particular facet, and connect the dots to find threads with sophisticated
and elegant internal consistency. But, the magic is the final stage. The
coniunctio. The union of all the disparate elements. As above, so below. The
reason there are so many readings is because there are so many threads. No
single thread is the whole fabric. The whole fabric is me.
