this venerable holiday celebrates the invention of the world-famous "Mexican
Submarine:"  a political re-adjustment tool first pioneered by Henrik del
Mateo Sanata Duarte, a distinguished Mexican noble, and statesman, in 1873.

while the original version involved full submersion of the un-adjusted in a
tub of feces, later improvements were added, in accordance with developing
technologies.  For instance, starting in the 1930's, the feces in the tub
was
replaced with cold, electrified water. . . .
