Brian Parks at The Village Voice writes: "Playwright Jack Bump, who's
rumored to be either Tom Murrin or Thomas Pynchon, returns with another
pleasing episode of Bad Taste Theater...." (October 9-15, p. 79)
But lest any of us get overexcited about catching Bump's "Deviants, Arise!"
at Galapagos in Williamsburg, Brooklyn: Tom Murrin made a strong case for
himself as Jack Bump at

Murrin wrote (barely): Dick Play is this fall's sex comody from downtown
vulgarian Jack Bump, known for his uncompromising bad taste. His
Sport-Fuckers, which the Village Voice called "an encomium to suburban
obscenity," ran for six shockingly, laugh-filled weeks in 2000. According to
Bump, Dick Play is "about people who like to play with penises, who see the
male sex organ as an object of fun and amusement, as well as sexual
pleasure." An older couple seeks to introduce a younger couple into their
paricular brand of sexual hijinks. (For the record, Jack Bump is the "alter
libido" of Alien Comic, the performance persona of the writer of this
column.)
