Paul, you were invited, too (I invited everybody on
Pynchon-L), and I'm genuinely sorry you couldn't be
here.  You would have liked meeting our next door
neighbors, I think, George and Virgina -- Virginia
spent a career as a State Department foreign service
office in South America, and George introduced
long-distance air travel to South America, managing
PanAm's operations there from the inception of
service.  

You'd like Barbara if you met her, too, I'll bet --
she's sharp, witty, very easy on the eyes, and she's a
great Pynchon fan, too.

I expect you and I could have had a nice conversation,
too.
