Is Pynchonoid AKA

Sending this along as my response to the who's really real and/or whose roles 
are real and whose real is role questions...hope you like it. I was inspired 
to write it during observation of academic turf wars at Tufts 10 years ago 
while I was enjoying a long-term writing contract to its deservedly acclaimed 
Veterinary School.  (It's one of the pieces in Red Tag Oven for anyone with 
further interest.)  


And Now For A Little Transgenic Philosophy

in such things as living, not being eaten or experimented upon, and in not

but it gets so subtle 
up the high end of the species scale
that lots of us don't even know
we're dinner,
much less curiosities.
And, as for ends and means,
What level evolution do you have to be
To get that straight?
Anywhere past paramecia, I'd say,
And who's dessert becomes
(at best) amphibious.
