Wouldn't the simplest solution be for everyone to follow Netiquette
immediately?  Anyone who continues to post flamebait would obviously qualify
as a troll not especially concerned about the wishes of the list owners,
other subscribers, or the main subject of this discussion group--and why
waste effort and energy on such a troll?

I've been considering filtering or unsubscribing, but I'd really prefer to
continue subscribing and reading about Pynchon from everyone who cares
enough about Pynchon to subscribe to the only online community devoted to
him and his work.  Please give the pissing contest(s) a break and try to
tolerate or and maybe even enjoy list discussion, why dontcha?
