Whilst there's a bit of downtime on the List (but not
quite enough offscreen, alas, for me to post much of
anything), once again, thanks to Robert (jbor) for
keeping this (re)reading (for those of you who were
here whn the novel was first published) of Mason &
Dixon alive and breathing.  Which is hardly to suggest
that the discussion has come to a close (discussions
never really coming to a close here, which is as it
should be), think we're still on Ch. 78, and there's
always an opportunity for grand (or petit) summations,
so ... so I can't guarantee I'll have the time (and
even less can I assume that y'all'll have the
patience) to take a similar responsibilty were we to
move on to, say, Slow Learner (nudge, nudge) or even
Vineland (hint, hint) next, but I'll do my damnedest
(and believe you me, I've been damned, but, er, good).
