Vineland's Shocking ambiguity

I sent a message in reply to Toby's message but it was
quite long--10K. Actually it was 25K and I cut it down
quite a bit. It seems to have disappeared. Is 10K too
long for this list? Should I cut it down a bit more
and re-send it it?
