Trying *not* to look like a tourist is a very American thing. In most 
of the world the local population loves to get out on a holiday or 
weekend and see the local "touristy" sights. In Paris the Eiffel 
Tower area is crowded with Parisians. In New York the Statue of 
Liberty area is devoid of New Yorkers! (lol)
