I can see the Virgin explicitly.  She is obviously THE "central" theme of V. 
Christ is almost incidental to the Virgin amogst those that worship her, but
you gotta have a baby to proclaim Christ's birth as central to V.  V seems to
be giving birth to inanimate self.
