Admittedly, Arafat makes it hard to be a liberal. He's almost as stupid
as Saddam. And while it would be convenient to lay the very bad 
behavior of Sharon at the feet of Arafat, I'm afraid that just won't do,
either.

At this point, about the only thing Arafat has going for him in terms
of legitimacy- and this would probably be true for any Palestinian in
his position- is the HUGE disparity in aid given to Israel by the U.S.

It just ain't fair, and it perpetuates the hopelessness. Sharon wants
the Palestinians to disappear.
