This is a strawman. And I'm glad it was Paul that identified it from the
start. I think Paul, myself, others, while not wanting to admit our own
beliefs (although I've consistently stated that I don't believe in God
or Gods and that I am not a Christian) are relevant, have discussed the
possibility that God or Gods don't exist (except in the Freudian sense)
and that Pynchon's texts are atheistic. Of course, I too have complained
that the idea that Pynchon's texts are "religious" texts and clearly
the products of a Catholic imagination and are not anti-religious has
not been welcome here. In fact, Robert, you are the person, other than
Doug, that has consistently distorted the "religious" readings of
Pynchon's texts by reducing them to Christian preachings.
