Well, Japan was never occupied. And in Germany the process was gradual 
and took years. And the German people had already known democracy, so 
the transition wasn't difficult for them. My point is, the US didn't go 
to all this trouble to occupy Iraq just to withdraw and just let things 
happen. They will stay for a long time, keep things under control and 
make sure the situation develops to their liking.
