I am not sure why you are arguing so strenuously with me, when I am one of
the only other supporters of this war on the List, but....

I said, "we *helped* build him." Yes, we did -- but nowhere near as much as
native Middle Eastern forces, and nowhere near as much as France and Russia.
But still, we did have an undeniable hand in assisting his regime by action
and inaction during the 1980s and in the post Gulf War period. Was it
completely significant? No, but I am not arguing it was so. You seem to be
debating a point I am not trying to make. I am *not* contending, as some
liberals, that we created Saddam. That's ridiculous, for many of the same
reasons you provide.
