A query on translation

Well, you really should get out and listen to people. A Googled sample
doesn't prove my point, you have to get out and listen to real people
talk on the street. That's where I hear people saying "interested on"
all the time. 


When I replied to Otto, I simply let him know that he was being
understood. I understood exactly what he meant. I understood him and I
suspect we all understood him because it's quite common to say or write
"interested on" and because "interested on" and "interested in" are
easily understood as meaning the same thing. I was not sitting here with
my red pen ready to correct him and launch into a  prescriptive grammar
lesson on the use of in/on. So, I did not mislead Otto as you claimed.
