That's right. The Herero religion, prior to its contact with the white
christian world was organized and functioned.

Enzian, as you note, grows up in the white occupied world. The religion
of his ancestors has been infected with the christian sickness. That's
one of the reasons the people keep applying the christian hero legends
to him, Herod and so on, that is why they are SOS and so on.
There is no Return. The Germans destroy their organized religion, their
traditions, murder them--Genocide.
And what do you know, the same thing happened to the Anabaptists, they
were an organized religion too and they too were the victims of genocide
by white christians (catholics and Lutherans).

My point is that organized religions are not all denounced in GR.
Amy was executed for being a witch, but she was in fact an antinomian,
as were the Anabaptists.
