Of course it is. And I thought maybe, just maybe Doug was going to say
something about father raping and the broom, the wave of religious
nationalism that swept up Catholic boys ... the connection that Pynchon
makes to Father Rapier is quite humorous and poignant. 

What was it that nearly swept up Mr. Dixon? Was it anarchy? Or was it
revolution? Can't recall.
