1984 Foreword: Not What "They" Were Expecting, Apparently

I confess I'm still not sure I understand why you're
so hot to read Pynchon's Foreward to 1984, jbor, since
you've already interpreted it based on your
pre-existing opinions about his work, even without
reading the whole thing.  Why confound your prejudices
with an reading of the text in its entirety?  

About your being ill-mannered, safe to say that's not
an accusation but instead an observation shared by
many P-listers, re-confirmed in this instance.  To ask
Dave to scan and mail you the Foreward and at the same
time accuse him of "bowdlerizing" what he's posted to
the list already -- that's you in a nutshell.
