What kept (and keeps) America from becoming fascist (or communist) is the
basically mafiotic structure of  the society (Enron, Halliburton) -
everything/everybody can be bought/sold. The Texas-oil mafia has the country
in its grip.

To answer your question: I think he's careful, and he has said some things
in the 1984-foreword as I interpret it.

Luckily the Austrian-born Schwarzenegger cannot become president.
