What is the connection? Where?

In a dusty stack? Or in the collective imagination of the P-List?

In spy novels, in mysteries, detective fiction, chess, Chaplin, Keaton,
the Marx Brothers, Conrad, Shakespeare, James, Joyce, Proust, Kafka,
where?

In America?
In Ithica?
In Integrations Secretly Conspiring to speed up the globe with a TV and
a frozen pizza?
In the artificiality of reality to intellectual reductionism of the
real, "real", reel, world turning?

There is something fake, some counterfeiting, Eeee Gad, Is what it is.
Yes, and it's the Boy who can make Himself Invisible and the self
conscious Portrait of the Artist On the Road with a Moo Cow and his
Magic hallucinogens.

In his poem Fame, it is VN's Russia haunting him, it is ghosts, gothic
sprockets turning the reel 24fps, the real wheeling away from the
Recognitions of Invisible Men out On The Road looking for a Baedeker day
and a better tomorrow in America.

"They both were ornithologists"

Not only shadows and false azure, but sounds too.

The Howl of Shades with a grievance.
The Beating of the alienated, addicted, committed, New Beat Generation
Wasted & Paranoid, mainlining a Naked Lunch.

Paring his fingernails a trilingual, apolitical Professor in tweed.

A kid from Long Island with buck teeth.

In both novels the author's create complex juxtapositions between the
original subject
and the allusion to it. dismantle with irony. Tip the hat, a
serious tribute, say to Gaddis or to Joyce, with a toilet?

Inside bathroom Jokes.

Multiple perspectives.

Playful parodies.

Question that both novels ask,

Are we expected to read these guys as Milton's readers read him?

Are we expected to know the explicit, the implicit, the direct,
indirect, allusion to people, places, things, events, texts, private
stuff, arcane neck
breaking esoterikos requiring scholarly annotation?

"You talk like a book, Dad."

Characters talk like books or TV or Film or any number of things or
people.

Why? Well because they are in books. Did you forget that you were
reading a book?

Well, it's not quite a book? A WORK in pro gressorial metamorphosis.
