Elaine, re Zoyd's size:

p5:  Prairie to Zoyd:  "Calvin doesn't cut nothin' bigger than a 14...

Actually that was "a girl younger than his daughter" in traffic on 101, but no matter.

We do get a hint from Prairie about Zoyd's girth on p 14:

"Crazy about this, Dad. Fresh, rilly. Can I have it when you're done? Use it to cover my futon."

If his dress contains enough fabric to make a futon cover, Zoyd must be a pretty big boy.

On the other hand, there's evidence that he's fairly athletic, too. The description of his window dive as seen in slo-mo on videotape (15) sounds like he exhibits some gymnastic skill. And Hector tells us that Zoyd "once shot the old Hermosa Pier durin a lightin storm," (27) a surfing achievement that would suggest a high level of athletic prowess, not to mention craziness.
