"'It's like Mr. Sulu laying in coordinates, only different' Zoyd
explained." (VL, Ch. 4, p. 40) To get out of the way the obligatory
Star Trek site: http://www.georgetakei.com/ (Mr. Takei is happy now.)
Mr. Wheeler tries to explain his out-of-body spying on Ms.
Gates. Perhaps a channel surfing analogy would have worked better
because Ms. Prairie eventually gives him the game-show buzzer and in an
abrupt manner we break out of our flashback, "'Say hi to 'em up on
Phantom Creek, OK?'". (Id.) These passages also contain a violent POV
break from Mr. Wheeler to Ms. Prairie, "He nodded and she felt some
unaccustomed bloom of tenderness . . . ." (Id.)
