VLVL(4)(j) Love Marriage

Is there something in the text that suggests the union of Zoyd and Frenesi
was unsanctioned by the state? Couldn't find anything.

There was a divorce, mentioned obliquely after Zoyd gets to Vineland: "Zoyd
didn't get points either for the divorce, though if he had custody and
nobody'd seen Frenesi for years, it didn't make her look much better." (320)
So apparently this was a legal wedding, except for, you know, the punch.
