"RC and Moonpie..."  (VL, Ch 4, p. 35)  This gives new
flavor to Mr. Pynchon's character naming... Moonpies,
a popular and inexpensive snack of the south was tied
with that old staple, RC Cola, in the 1950's as a
bargain priced snack combination.
