Between the fantasy exit and the exact knowledge exit, between the
drama exit and technology exit, there in a gas station station: that of
magic. It was in magic that the general conquest of the external
environment was decisively instituted. The magician not only believed in
marvels but audaciously sought to work them. Why is Prairie's quest for
her Mother being directed by a generation of losers who arrogantly
perused, with the use of technology & magic, a fundamental reversal of
Man's dependent relation upon a merciless and indifferent world? Sister
R has a magic machine that can bring people back to life and she tells
gnostic creation myths. Looking at birds, men dream of rockets. Magic,
like pure fantasy, is a short cut to knowledge and power.
